After decades in the Columbia River, each boomstick is lifted out of the water, loaded onto a log truck and transported to a FSC-certified sawmill in Mehama, Oregon. Years of accumulated grit in the outer inch of each log requires the use of a large circular saw blade. Once that outer grit layer is removed, the beauty of old growth Douglas Fir is reclaimed into a variety of products.

Our wood has been water bound for at least 50 years and is hand selected for quality and grade. While it may seem counterintuitive, the water actually cures the wood as the submerged timber is exposed to cold temperatures and a lack of oxygen in the river. These unmatched conditions preserve the wood and provide our customers with a one-of-a-kind product.
